Facebook holds the title of largest online social network - in October 2013 Facebook reported that it now boasted 1.2 billion monthly active users with well over 150 billion 'friend' connections between them.
Somewhat unsurprisngly, the USA holds the record for most Facebook users by country, with 163,071,460 users as of March 10 2013. On the same day, according to the US Census Bureau, the population of the USA was 315,467,468, meaning that 51.69% of the US population had a Facebook account.
At the time, Brazil took second place in the rankings with 66,552,420 users.
The undisputed queen of Facebook as far as fan pages are concerned is Barbadian R&B superstarRihanna. As of January 2014, the singer had notched up over 85 million fans, making her the most “liked” person on Facebook. "It doesn't feel real...That's a lot of people to even think or imagine what it looks like together," she told journalist Brian A. Hernandez.
